Solar panel upcycling
End-of-life treatment of solar PV modules will adversely impact the environment if not appropriately addressed now. We have partnered with UoM (University of Melbourne) and RMIT (Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology) to create a circular economy for decommissioned solar panels thus enabling future sustainability.
A time and cost-effective separation treatment of PV panel components based on vortex oscillation and delamination process will be utilized. It will also address the upcycling of the separated components into value-added materials. The process firstly eliminates the cost of safely disposing of end-of-life solar panels and secondly supplies raw materials for the building industry, thereby decreasing the environmental strain caused by resource (sand) depletion, providing thus both an economical and environmentally-friendly approach.
